SavageHot has been in the making for over twenty years. My entire life my mother forever encouraged me to write down my recipes with exact measurements. Then, in December 2016, I was diagnosed Multiple Myeloma, an incurable blood and bone marrow cancer. The following year a stem cell transplant enabled me to prolong my life indefinitely. In 2020 Covid hit in Toronto. I was confined to my home due to a compromised immune system. So into the kitchen I went! I enrolled in a food safety course and obtained my home cook license. Developing a correct, revised recipe was my focus. I engaged my family and friends as taste testers and together we created the most palatable blend of primarily hot peppers, using mango as a sweetener. I was adamant about keeping the hot sauce all natural. SavageHot Original Hot Sauce quickly caught the attention of all hot sauce aficionados.

My small home business grew and I was unable to keep up with the ongoing demand. I engaged my sister Megan in assisting me with ideas on how to expand. Our first priority was creating a catchy logo for the sauce. I came up with the name SavageHot earlier. Once we decided on the image and text, we never looked back.

Popular demand for the original SavageHot solidified my choice in presenting the spicy version to the market. Some tasters found the original sauce to be too spicy, but they enjoyed the taste. Having the SavageHot alternate recipe in mind, I decided to return to the kitchen and perfect its taste and create a sauce with a greater viscosity, appealing to those whose palates could not handle the heat. SavageHot Sweet Heat was then born.

I vacillated between more or less sugar in my recipe. At times the sauce would be packed with heat and its texture loose. Utilizing more sugar the sauce texture would firm up. Today, Sweet Heat is a spicy and sweet version of the original hot sauce. Its applications are endless. Use it as a marinade, enhance brunch dishes, add the final punch to wings and stir fry recipes, spice up sandwiches, bake as a topping on camembert or brie, or take your tacos and Mexican food to a savoury next level. SavageHot Sweet Heat is a condiment that will become your household condiment because there is a little SavageHot in all of us !
